October 22, 2007 was a historical day for the Mahima Shiksha Samiti, the sponsoring body of the Jaipur National University, and for the Seedling Institutions of Higher Education, when the Government of Rajasthan announced the establishment of the University. The Noorul Islam University comprising of Noorul Islam College of Engineering has more than 20 Years of standing in Higher Education field. The University is run by the Noorul Islam Center for Higher Education (NICHE) which has been declared as a Deemed-to-be-University by Ministry of Higher Education, Govt,of India vide Notification No.F.9-51/2004-4.3 at 8th December 2008.

At VIT, semester pattern is followed. An academic year consists of two semesters. The Fall (Odd) Semester begins in June and the Winter (Even) Semester in December. The academic schedule mentioned in the academic calendar will be strictly followed.
